History[]

Athena is the Greek goddess of justice, wisdom, craft and war. The statue of Athena had mysteriously disappeared, and around the same time, she appeared as a woman somewhere in Athens. She was taken to a Greek hospital after she had been found in the wilderness, naked and unconscious, and after she woke, she did not know where she was, and she could not remember what surrounded her, yet some of the structure seemed familiar.

After she remembered who she was and got her armour and her weapons, she went to the United States of America and she met President Obama and his family. While in the U.S., Athena began investigating something mysterious, and her investigation led her to a group of criminals, and with the aid of her brother, Ares, she fought and defeated them.

A few years later, Athena allied herself with Dracula's Team to help prevent the Mayan Prophecy from coming true. She allied with the team after they discovered Kulan Gath summoning the Mayan gods so that he may destroy the Earth, but before one of the gods could kill Red Sonja, Athena threw her spear through it.

Trivia

  • In Prophecy #5, the Athena profile credits Athena's first modern appearance as Athena #1, however, she appeared in Xena: Warrior Princess before that.
  • Also in Prophecy #5, Athena is credited as being an ex-member of the League of Light, however, there was no issues with Athena on the team, and the Trade Paperback version of Prophecy seems to have removed the error and added the NYPD as her affiliates.
