H.P. Lovecraft

Written by The Dark Ones long ago when the seas ran red with blood, the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis is bound in human flesh and inked in blood. This ancient Sumerian text contains prophecies, funerary incantations, and demon resurrection passages.

  • No special notes.

  • The Necronomicon was originally created by H.P. Lovecraft for his various short stories. The book was first mentioned by name in the 1924 short story "The Hound", but didn't physically appear until his 1927 story "History of The Necronomicon". The version that appears in the Dynamite comics is based on the Necronomicon that appeared in director Sam Raimi's Evil Dead film series.
  • In Prophecy #2, Abdul Alhazred is miscredited as the author of the Necronomicon of Earth-818793.
